"Drafting a Winning Strategy": When in Rome...

The Bills WR room does not lack leadership or experience. It does still need clear cut WR#1 talent. With the amount of skill available in this draft class, it may be the best time to have such a need. The three elite, Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze are all very promising candidates and there's a solid chance all three of them go within the top 10 picks. It’s safe to say that Harrison Jr. and Nabers may be out of reach for the Bills with both being projected to go within the 1st 5 picks. In a clear youth movement it would be tough to imagine Beane sacrificing too many early picks in the 2024 and 2025 draft to move into the Top 5. Rome Odunze’s talents have the attention of many NFL GM’s. Mock Drafts have Odunze being drafted as early as pick #6 and as late as pick #12. IF, he is still available outside of the first 10 picks, Beane and Company may be able to move up without costing an arm and a leg.

Odunze is a sees ball/gets ball type player. One of his best attributes include finding ways to come down with the prize. Body positioning, body control, hand strength, timing and mid-air adjustments are all a part of Odunze’s repertoire. His ability to win in jump ball and contested situations sets him apart from the since released Diggs and Davis. He has low drop rate (3rd in NCAA) which also helps his cause. Did we mention Odunze also blocks? His size and strength allow him to handle corners and smaller LB’s and Safeties with ease.

Can you imagine starting the 2024 Season by watching Josh Allen throw to Mack Hollins and Curtis Samuel? Rome Odunze would be a huge pick, well worth the draft capital sacrifice and an immediate day 1 starter.
