It’s been an interesting offseason but Training Camp has arrived. Thank goodness as I’ve been going through withdrawal. The BIG NEWS of the day is Nyhiem Hines was seriously injured on a Jet Ski and has a major knee injury that will require surgery and is out for the season. This definitely opens up a lot of possibilities at both running back and for kick returns. It is reported that the injury is a leg injury and ACL tear. We are going to miss his speed and versatility.
Here is a brief summary of most of the players that were injured last season and a Brief comment on what to expect this year.
OFFENSE
C Mitch Morse: elbow, ankle and concussion. Had offseason surgery on elbow and ankle. These should be fine. Has had 6 concussions in career. Repeat concussion is the greatest risk
OT Tommy Doyle. Had ACL week 3. Is rehabbing well and should be good for Camp and compete for a swing tackle position
OT Dion Dawkins had high ankle sprain but should be good to go for the season
OT Spencer Brown. High ankle sprain. This shouldn’t be a problem and his back is in good shape from offseason surgery before last season
TE Dalton Kincaid. Had spine fracture and missed pre draft workouts but is healed and participated in OTAs and is ready to play
WR Gabe Davis. High ankle sprain. Suffered and played through season. Now fully recovered and should have a good season in his contract year
QB Josh Allen. UCL sprain. No surgery needed and should be good to go but possibly is at greater risk of repeat injury
DEFENSE
DE Von Miller. ACL in week 12. Had surgery. Is cleared for football activity. Probably will not play in preseason and likely will miss early games of the season. Will be brought back cautiously and be ready to go for late season and a playoff run
DT Ed Oliver. Right ankle and right foot. Should be good and hopefully have great season with his new contract and a better defensive line andMcDs defense
DT Jordan Phillips. Shoulder/rotator cuff. Had surgery and is in rehabilitation. Probably ready for preseason but may not be 100%
DT Taquan Jones. High ankle sprain in playoffs. Is recovered and ready
LB Matt Milano. Leg/knee. missed a few games but still made ProBowl. Should be back at 100%
S Dean Marlowe. Groin. Had offseason core muscle surgery. May still be limited for camp but should be good for the regular season
S Micah Hyde. Neck injury. Had spinal fusion surgery and was ready to go at the end of the playoffs so should be fully ready for the season
S Jordan Poyer. Ribs, lung, foot, elbow, knee. Played all season with injuries. Has had time to heal and should be better with Hyde by his side. He may be wearing protective braces but will play
S DAMAR HAMLIN. Heart. Has been cleared for football. May have some mental problems playing due to the injury and will have major competition to make the team with offseason signing of Taylor Rapp
CB Christian Benford. Hand, oblique. missed several games but is healed and competing for CB 2
CB Kaiir Elam. Left ankle/foot. Is well healed and the way he finished the season he should beCB 2 with Tre White as CB1
Hopefully all you Bills Fans are as excited about the upcoming season as I am. I will try to keep up with injuries as they happen. All the information I give here is my own opinion and based solely on information obtained from the media. I DO NOT have have access to actual medical reports or treatment plans for any of the players. I use my years of experience and understanding of the injury and potential treatments to help you understand what is being discussed.
