Let's start with the 2 players that are out. Micah Hyde and AJ Epenesa. These 2 were both injured in the KC game and are listed as week to week.

Micah Hyde sustained another "stinger" injury. This happened when his head snapped back and to the side during a tackle. This stretches his brachial plexus and causes, pain, numbness and weakness in an arm. The fact that he wasn't placed immediately on IR says that his prior neck fusion surgery is intact. He will probably need a couple weeks to allow inflammation to decrease and symptoms to improve and may be ready for the last couple weeks of the season and the playoffs.

AJ Epenesa sustained a left lower rib injury. This happened when he was twisted down an had a player land on him with his knee on the ribs. This gives us 2 possibilities. He mat have a rib/intercostal injury or a cartilage injury. The rib intercostal injury can usually be treated with in injection for pain relief and would allow him to play. With a week to week designation he most likely has a cartilage injury which is extremely painful and unable to be numbed up with an injection. It may be several weeks before he can play again. Anyone who has had a rib injury understands how much it hurts to cough or sneeze after it. Imagine getting hit in it over and over or trying to bend around the tackle to get to the quarterback.

My bigger concern for injury this week is Taron Johnson's ankle. He limped off the field last week several times and was slow to get up several times. I didn't see a specific injury but it maybe an ankle foot deltoid ligament injury. This will limit his burst speed and cutting ability. Both of which could be a big problem trying to cover the middle of the field against Dallas receivers.

Dalton Kincaid had X-rays on his shoulder after a heavy hit during the KC game. No fracture but likely anAC joint sprain. They should be able to give him a pain shot and wrap it up so he can play but watch to see how he does with any overhead receptions as this may show if he is limited at all

Leonard Floyd wrist should be fine with some tape and maybe a brace. He's been playing with it already and hopefully will get another team leading sack this week

Josh Allen shoulder is fine. He just gets some additional treatment during the week. He has been playing without fear and his arm strength and accuracy seem back to normal. Look for his legs to be a factor running this week against the Dallas defense

Dawson Knox wrist looked good last week and he should be fine this week. We will need some good blocking and TE play this week

Kaiir Elam opened up about his foot/ankle injury. He had a serious tear in a ligament which seriously limited his ability to perform. There was a question about surgery but apparently he has done well with conservative therapy and is ready to go. I suspect that he will not be called up this year unless we have another injury in the secondary.

Justin Shorter is practicing to get experience with the offense this year but probably will be placed back on IR after his practice window and will get ready for next season

Von Miller finally looked a little better last week. Maybe he is finally getting some confidence in how his knee feels and will be ready to make an impact with AJ out. I sure hope so.

That sums up this week. As always Go Bills
